The new poll by Quinnipiac University found that 79 percent of respondents supported citizenship for the immigrant youths, while 11 percent said the youths should be deported.

"Considered an intelligent person with a really bad report card, filled with far more "F's" than "A's" or "B's", the president is a long way from the Dean's list in the eyes of voters", Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a statement on Wednesday. The January 10 national poll found Trump is intelligent, but not fit or level-headed, US voters say; first year was "disaster", "chaotic", "successful".

The November 14 national poll found Trump approval rating at near-record low; Roy Moore should drop out, voters say nearly 3-1.

59 percent of voters believe the president "does not have good leadership skills".

Recent poll numbers suggest Democratic voters will be more likely to head to the polls in the upcoming election than Republicans.

The survey of 1,106 registered voters was conducted January 5-9 with a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.

Thirty-seven percent of respondents said Trump's policies are helping the nation's economy, while 29 percent said he is hurting the economy, and 30 percent said the administration's policies are not making a difference. The survey by Quinnipiac found that 69 percent of Americans think Trump is not level-headed, while 63 percent say he is not honest, and 57 percent he is not fit to serve as president.
