  • Trump: I hope Oprah runs in 2020 so she can be defeated

Donald Trump has insulted Oprah Winfrey and challenged the TV star to challenge him in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump dashed off a trademark angry tweet overnight, calling Winfrey "very insecure", her questions "biased and slanted" and her facts "incorrect". The reason for the strike appeared to the former talk show host's appearance in a segment on 60 Minutes in which she revisited a piece she did in the fall where she talked politics with a group of voters from MI. (Or 10 minutes to read the transcript.) I don't know why he's whining about bias; most of her questions are anodyne.

Trump ended his tweet saying he hoped Winfrey would run for president so she could be "exposed and defeated like all the others".

Ms Winfrey made no declarative statements but did ask questions like if respect for the USA is eroding.

He told his millions of followers that he hopes she runs for president so she can be "exposed and defeated".

Meanwhile, many lashed out at where Trump's priorities are. "I know her very well".

As for her Golden Globes speech, she said she was only trying to deliver a good talk. Trump said in June 2015 when Stephanopoulos noted that the president told Larry King in 1999 that he'd consider making Winfrey his running mate.

Man saws AR-15 in half to send message
Pappalardo said he is a 2nd Amendment supporter who has owned the AR-15 legally for 30 years. "I even have it tattooed on my arm". While he says that he enjoys shooting for fun at targets, he doesn't want his weapons used for violent purposes.

"I am actually humbled by the fact that people think I could be the leader of the free world, but it's just not in my spirit, ' Winfrey said of the constant pressure to run".

Social media users, however, were not happy with the president's latest tweet attacking yet another rival and his assertion that she is "very insecure".

While moderating a panel of voters during the "60 Minutes" segment, Winfrey asked how they felt about Trump's recent comments referring to immigrants from "s--hole countries" such as Haiti and African nations. "I was looking for a way to express what was going on in this moment in terms of gender and class and race".

The rumors had Republicans rattled, with one party strategist telling Politico in January that if Oprah ran, she would be the Democratic contender the GOP would be most concerned about.

"Isn't there a country you should be running?" added another. "I've never gone in to lose in my life".
