There will be no lowering of guard despite harsh weather and hard terrain on the Line of Control (LoC), where two soldiers have lost their lives and another was injured after a snow avalanche hit a forward post on Friday, defence sources said on Saturday.

The LoC divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

The police and Army sources said a forward post of the Army's 21 Rajput at Sona Pindi Gali was hit by an avalanche at around 4:30 pm.

Avalanches and landslides are common in Himalayan Kashmir. A search operation was started immediately, and all the four soldiers trapped under snow were evacuated. The fourth one, namely Sepoy Bipin, is said to be stable and has been hospitalised, the officer said.

Though the Clippers are expected to build around young players and draft picks, they plan to go after free agents in July. Love's ability to occasionally take his man off-the-dribble only makes it harder for slower big men to cover him.

Defense spokesman Rajesh Kalia told The Indian Express that three soldiers were killed when the Army post was hit by an avalanche in Machil sector. The deceased soldiers have been identified as Havaldar Kamlesh Singh, Naik Balveer and Sepoy Ragendra.

In 2016, at least 14 Indian soldiers were killed in two avalanches in the region.

Earlier in the month, as many as 11 people were killed after the Tangdhar avalanche hit the Kupwara-Tangdhar road in the state.
