Tesla's Elon Musk Uses Twitter to Beg Trump for Help

  • US$2.6b award plan for Musk cheered by big Tesla shareholders

President Donald Trump read a tweet from Tesla CEO Elon Musk about Chinese import taxes on American cars during a signing ceremony for his steel and aluminum tariffs on Thursday. Tesla has been exporting cars to China and accounts for almost nine per cent of the electric vehicles (EV) market in the country.

Musk, whose separate SpaceX reusable rocket venture is widely followed in China, made the unusually blunt comments on his Twitter account, against a broader backdrop of rising trade tensions between the world's two largest economies.

After referencing Musk's tweet, Trump suggested he would eventually enact a plan that would allow the U.S.to match any tariff imposed by other countries. Just want a fair outcome, ideally where tariffs/rules are equally moderate.

'That's from Elon, but everybody knows it, ' Trump said. But to get around the high tariff, Tesla has indicated support for opening a factory in China - although Musk has resisted partnering with local manufacturers like other auto companies do. "They've known it for years".

Jaylen Brown provides update on his health after terrifying fall
The Celtics bench stayed hot, dropping 42 points, with Morris leading the way with 17 points (7-15 FG) and five rebounds. After his concussion test, Brown was reportedly taken to a hospital for a CT scan and other evaluations.

He went on, "I am against import duties in general, but the current rules make things very hard". Tesla wouldn't say whether its electric semis will attempt the trip without recharging in between, but it seems doubtful that they wouldn't recharge at least part of the battery to ensure that the return trip goes off without a hitch. It's not exactly a long haul, but it could be something that's still very useful to a large number of customers, and it's a trip that Tesla itself has to make regularly with its own transport fleet for this very goal. They're saving the boosters. Musk added that no American auto company can own a factory in China and must instead rely on Chinese-run factories to produce vehicles.

Tesla has sought to build a factory in China, and last November Musk said he hoped the plant would be operating within three years.

The said new technology for Tesla cars are being hailed by Musk himself as cutting-edge and quite possibly more advanced than any existing system.
