The music-streaming service told The Post on Wednesday it has reached the 40 million paid subscriber milestone.

According to Variety, the news was confirmed earlier today (April 11) in an internal memo from Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue - to whom Schusser will report in his new role.

Oliver Schusser has been named head of Apple Music Worldwide, moving up from his London-based role as VP of Apple Music & International Content. Previously, Schusser has worked on projects like iBooks, Apple Podcasts, iTunes movies and TV and Apple Store, as Variety notes. Apple offers the service in 115 countries.

We know that Apple Music is reportedly growing aster than Spotify in the United States by adding five percent to its subscriber base each month, compared to Spotify's two percent growth rate. Which means at this pace, Apple Music will eventually have more paying subscribers than Spotify.
