Apple reportedly working on iPhone touchless gesture controls

  • You're not crazy: The Instagram app just disappeared from Apple Watch

Alongside the news that Apple is reportedly working on touch-free iPhone controls, a recent Bloomberg report also indicated that the company is investigating using curved screens in its future handsets. These are touchless gesture control and curvy display screens. The screen curvature is reported to bend inward gradually from top to bottom, unlike Samsung phones which curve on the screen's left and right edges. But, apparently, Apple has taken a cue from there and made a decision to differentiate in the crowded marketplace with new designs and features that may be introduced in the upcoming iPhone. Similarly, the new touchless gesture will also take into account the distance of fingers from the screen to add some new and high-tech elements to the technology. For instance, the latest iPhones come with 3D Touch feature, which responds differently depending on the finger pressure. But then Apple has as rich a history copying Samsung now as is the case with the reverse. Except for the iPhone X, all the other iPhone models so far have sported a flat display. Devices upgraded to iOS 11.3 are returning a new response that does not match Apple's documented protocol. OLED displays are capable of being shaped into curves or even folded, unlike LCD screens, which were used in older iPhones.

Security forces are on the look out for the terrorists responsible for the said acts, said a police official. The Police said that the body of Manzoor Ahmed Bhat was found without his head on the outskirts of Hajin.

The new report however says this technology likely won't be ready for prime time for at least another two years. At that price, we're talking just under 3x the estimated cost (IHS) of the display for the iPhone X. But Apple's long-lasting distaste for curved displays may be going the way of its hatred of big-screen phones - which was legendary back in the day before the first Plus iPhone launched. Apple's touchless gesture control detection method is rumoured to be built into the display itself instead of functioning via an external motion sensor on the phone's bezel.
