Worley, 23, came to town as the return from Carolina in the Torrey Smith trade.

Worley was detained after police received a 911 call about an automobile obstructing a highway at Philadelphia, according to an NFL Network report.

Worley's arrest would be the second player the Eagles obtained this offseason to have a run-in with the law.

The Eagles cornerback was tased and arrested in Philadelphia early Sunday morning after a dispute with authorities, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Given the report that Worley was passed out in a vehicle blocking traffic at six in the morning it's not hard to imagine he was out late partying before the incident took place.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Eagles have released cornerback Daryl Worley, hours after he was arrested.

In 2014, while still a student at West Virginia, he pleaded no contest to an assault charge following an incident at a nightclub. He played in 15 games (14 starts) for the Panthers last season, recording 63 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, and 10 passes defended.

On the Panthers past year, Worley struggled as the third cornerback on the depth chart. Worley said he had been defending his girl friend.
