Swedish Prime Minister Lofven received PM Modi at the airport.

PM Modi also said that Sweden has been a strong contributor to "Make in India" program.

One of the visitors hailed the Union Government's project of Digital India while saying, "We hope that the foreign visits of Prime Minister Modi will strengthen Digital India and his aim of taking lessons from foreign technology and then apply in India will also be fulfilled".

During the visit, the prime minister is scheduled to jointly host the India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm. They carried the banners that read: "Welcome PM" and shouted slogans of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and said they are feeling as if they are at home (India). Indian Ambassador to Finland Vani Rao confirmed that issues related to global security would be discussed at the India-Nordic Summit.

Prime Minister Modi will hold other separate bilateral meetings with the leaders of the other four Nordic countries on the sidelines of the summit.

Later in the day, the prime ministers of both the countries will sign bilateral agreements followed by a press conference. "The two leaders had a productive exchange of views on bilateral and regional issues", tweeted MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar. The theme of the talks today, he said, was how Sweden could make the most of India's development and form a win-win relationship with the country.

The two sides also agreed to exchange know-how and explore cooperation in the areas of electro-mobility as well as renewable fuels.

Prime Minister Lofven expressed support for Indias membership of the Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG).

Talking about the bilateral engagement between Prime Minister Modi and his Finnish counterpart Juha Sipila, Rao stated that a high-level dialogue would be taking place to review and strengthen bilateral ties, with trade and investment as the key focus.

The Prime Minister said he will be in London on 18th April.
