Nintendo announced today via a Tweet that the update will launch on June 21 in North America. Visit Nintendo.com or Nintendo eShop for details. Nintendo Switch Edition will welcome the Minecraft Bedrock Engine onto the platform, and you'l be able to play with others even if they're not playing on Switch as well. Minecraft will also support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership when it launches in September, as well as Xbox Live achievements and Gamerscore.

In other news, Minecraft Bedrock Edition Update 1.2.13 released last month and it has brought in a lot of new features, changes, bug fixes, experimental gameplay and some additional add-ons which contain resource and behavior packs.

Metanet Software's series of platform games, simply called N, may not be the most popular video game franchise, but it's actually had three major entries, which have been released on a wide variety of different systems. Along with the update will be support for cross-platform play between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.

Nintendo has just revealed that Minecraft on the Switch will receive its cross-play functionality in June. Players will also gain access to new mini-games and game modes through online community-run servers. You won't need apples or dead chickens to buy items with this new option, but you can purchase stuff with MINECOINS instead. As Nintendo Switch Edition was digital exclusive, offering the new version to existing owners shouldn't be too complicated.
