As reported by SPA, the sanctions imposed against the leader of the group Hassan Nasrallah, his Deputy Naim Qassem, Politburo members Muhammad Yazbeck, Hussein Khalil and Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyid.

In addition, TFTC Member States also designated the following key Hezbollah-affiliated individuals and entities: Talal Hamiyah, Ali Youssef Charara, Spectrum Group, Hasan Ebrahimi, Maher Trading, Hashem Safieddine, Adham Tabaja, Al-Inmaa Group, and Al-Inmaa Engineering and Contracting, all of whom were previously designated by the US.

Hassan Nasrallah was sanctioned for acting on behalf of Hezbollah, which he has led since 1992, the Treasury Department said Wednesday.

"The TFTC again demonstrated its great value to global security by disrupting Iran and Hezballah's destabilizing influence in the region".

The move expands USA sanctions against Nasrallah, who was sanctioned by Washington in 1995 for threatening to disrupt the Middle East peace process and again in 2012 over Syria.

The other TFTC member states - Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - designated members of Hezballah's Shura Council, the primary decision-making body of Hezbollah.

On Tuesday, the United States imposed sanctions on Iran's central bank governor and an Iraq-based bank for "moving millions of dollars" for Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The move came 10 days after Hezbollah gave a strong showing in Lebanon's elections, garnering enough seats in parliament to block any attempt by its political foes to make it disarm its militia, which rivals the Lebanese army in size and firepower.

The latest United States sanctions came one day after the Treasury Department slapped sanctions on governor of Iran's Central Bank Valiollah Seif, alleging it had funneled funds to Hezbollah.

Recall that Saudi Arabia and its allies recognized the "Hezbollah" terrorist organization in 2016. Since President Donald Trump announced the policy-shift on Iran, the US has sanctioned the nation's central bank governor and an Iran-linked currency exchange network.

The day before, the US Treasury already sanctioned the head of Iran's central bank and Iraq-based Al-Bilad Islamic Bank over alleged ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Hezbollah movement, which Washington considers to be a terrorist group.
